The Electrical Engineer will work with an interdisciplinary team of Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, and Biologists to design, implement, and manufacture in vitro diagnostic instruments. The position will require knowledge of digital and analog circuit design, schematic capture, layout, manufacturing, testing, and integration with mechanical components. The Electrical Engineer will assist the team in the planning, designing, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of electrical solutions in support of the R&D and Product Development teams.


  • Build, troubleshoot, and validate engineering prototypes
  • Identify and implement system performance improvements
  • Plan and implement modular, flexible electronic systems
  • Conceive and develop electrical instrumentation subsystems
  • Write/review protocols and reports to characterize subsystem functions and verify product performance
  • Conduct testing outlined in protocols and test methods
  • Conduct root cause analysis of problems in product, process, and test development
  • Test planning and execution, data acquisition, data analysis, and reporting on assigned projects


  • Experience designing digital and analog circuits using schematic capture and layout software
  • Experience ordering PCBs (printed circuit board) including fabrication, assembly, and testing
  • Experience with the following lab equipment: oscilloscope and multimeter
  • Experience working with Mechanical Engineers to define electromechanical interface
  • EMC and safety standard compliance (61326, 61010, FCC Part 15)
  • Experience scrubbing BOMs


  • OrCad Capture for digital and analog circuit design schematic capture
  • OrCad PCB editor for digital and analog circuit design layout
  • Experience with the following lab equipment: digital logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, ESD simulator
  • Cable assembly drawings and electrical test specification development
  • Knowledge of integrated circuit datasheets
  • Knowledge of SPI, UART, 12C, and USB communication protocols
  • Knowledge of CPLD/FPGA design software


  • B.S in Electrical engineering with 2 years. relevant experience
