About the Role:Heineken USA Operations aims at strategically supporting business growth and delivering value through the operational execution of supply chain activities. Operations are responsible for all supply chain activity including demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory management, customer services and logistics. The Senior Director of Logistics is a key position within Operations, with end-to-end responsibility for Logistics. The role has responsibility for ensuring that the right product gets to the Distributor at the right time for all of Heinekens portfolios. This role establishes strategic direction of Logistics, and develops long term plans that impact the achievement of company results. The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure effective management, interacting with Commercial, Finance, Legal and other Operations functions to identify and meet business requirements at a tactical level. The role also works closely with other Heineken Global partners to ensure end-to-end supply chain execution. Externally the role is responsible for the operational management of third party logistics vendors and other Stakeholders necessary to perform and deliver the requirements of the role. This role sits on the Operations Leadership Team with responsibility for providing input to the Operations Strategy, Performance and Continuous Improvement of the function. Key Responsibilities:1. Lead and Manage the Logistics Team, and Operations Team Leader Lead the department and manage a team of people including recruitment performance management and (career) development Define role definition and talent development (including recruitment, succession planning and opportunities) Define objectives setting and support to ensure delivery, providing day-to-day guidance to ensure operational execution Ensure key skills development Facilitate the formal and informal feedback processes ensuring effective performance management Key member in defining and shaping the HUSA Operations strategy and provides input into HUSA Strategic Plan 2. Heineken Supply RelationshipsOptimize the logistics flow of product from all Heineken supply locations (e.g. Breweries, warehouses etc). Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to optimize the flow of product from all Heineken supply locations ensuring the supply and demand plans are achieved Serve as the primary interface between Heineken USA and Heineken Supply Locations for day-to-day operational issues and tactical planning considerations affecting logistics Act as the business lead and primary interface for Heineken USA on global tenders or procurement activities in relation to supply chain (e.g. global sea freight tender etc) Agree Joint business Plans and opportunities for optimization for all logistics activities Ensure timely availability of necessary quantities of products at the right place, as well efficient and effective warehousing and transport services at the lowest possible costs and excellent cooperation with direct customers with respect to ordering, transport and invoicing complaint handling 3. Strategic and Tactical Ensure governance and compliance with all internal and external obligations for the end-to-end supply chain. Ensure clarity of all obligations including but not limited to legal, statutory, FDA, Heineken policy etc Ensure implementation and compliance with all obligations of the function and the internal and external processes at our logistics service providers. Always ensuring to put Safety First, holding accountability for our vendors to maintain consistent safety standards Responsible for the Warehousing and Logistics Pillars of TPM, with embedding a continuous improvement mindset in the team and Supply Chain Ensure product availability and accurate data for inventory to enable the team to Plan efficiently with our Supply Breweries 4. Logistics and Vendor ManagementEffectively manage and oversee third party vendor relationships to enable supply chain execution. Ensure safety and quality is at the heart of what we do and comply with Heineken standard operating procedures Define and implement the vendor management strategy in line with business requirements Evaluate, select and appoint third party vendors to provide services to the business (including sea freight, importation services, warehousing, road transportation, brokerage services etc) ensuring best value for the business and best-in-class business partners Manage the day-to-day operating relationships with third party vendors and ensure compliance and performance against agreed contract terms Implement the network design solutions from source to delivery within the Supply Chain 5. Financial ManagementEnsure financial accountability through supply chain cost management to deliver sustained business value. Undertake a detailed budget planning exercise and provide an activity based view of supply chain costs Ensure effective cost management of supply chain activities, aligned to agreed budgeted spend. Evaluate trade-off on areas of spend versus business value and benefit to support business profitability Ensure correct invoicing processes with all third party vendors and implement appropriate governance Provide relevant updates of supply chain costs on a frequent basis (monthly actual and quarterly latest estimate) with specific detail and insights to all areas of spend, including business risks and opportunities Implement an approach to Total Cost Management (TCM) delivering supply chain financial analytics and ensure the identification and realization of opportunities to deliver sustained business value Work with Procurement to ensure best value solutions and favorable commercial terms for the business Implement a clear KPI governance culture focusing on total spend, cost per case and value delivery Basic Qualifications/Requirements: Educated to Degree Level (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Finance or other relevant subject) 10+ years manager level and above experience in Operations / Supply Chain gained within the CPG Industry Experience in both distribution and planning Demonstrable supply chain strategy and execution capability Extensive knowledge of network design and logistics Experience of leading and motivating a high performance Team Fully conversant in written and spoken English Knowledge of SAP, Excel and other relevant Supply Chain Tools Experience managing external vendors and outsources Logistics Operations, including performance and continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverages preferred JG 30 HEINEKEN Leadership Expectations: Connect Shape Develop Deliver Role Model HEINEKEN USA Inc., the nations leading upscale beer importer, is a subsidiary of Heineken International NV, the worlds most international brewer.
