The CFO-MCHS is a member of senior administration and is responsible for financial direction and oversight of the MCHS Community Practice with annual revenues exceeding two billion dollars. The MCHS-CFO is also a member of the Finance Leadership Team. Collaborates with physician and administration leaders throughout the Mayo Clinic to enhance relationships and identify, lead and support broad strategic institutional activities and initiatives. Serves as a strategic partner to the Vice President and the Chair of Mayo Clinic Health System. Participates in institution-wide planning and decision-making. The CFO-MCHS focuses on efficient and effective delivery of financial service for the Department of Finance shared services function supporting Mayo Clinic Health System. Direct reports include the CFO for each state of MCHS, Wisconsin and Minnesota. In addition, the CFO-MCHS is accountable for directly or indirectly overseeing administrative staff, staff assessment and mentoring. The CFO-MCHS, along with the respective physician chairs, is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, integrating, monitoring and managing the financial activities of Mayo Clinic Health System. Some of the more specific CFO activities and responsibilities include working with the MCHS site and enterprise leaders on: operating and capital budgets for MCHS locations, leading the month-end and quarter-end financial close activities, collaborating with finance service line leaders (i.e. revenue cycle, supply chain, contracting and payer relations, and financial and accounting services) on establishing service line expectations and coordinating service line activities, assisting site leadership in weekly strategic initiatives serving as a key partner to the executive team, and leading the Finance Team engagement on the Epic implementation, as we meet key milestones and target dates.
