If so, Parsons has an opening for a Data Flow Engineer in the Fort Meade, MD area. These are critical times in the world of cyber security and Parsons needs your help to make the world a safer and more secure place-one computer at a time.

In this role, you will work with other team members to create and modernize mission-driven components on various levels of operating systems, applications and related environments; design and develop custom components using sophisticated data management tools; develop and customize ETL and data transport processors using Linux tools and python scripting.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy compliant data flows that satisfy customer requirements
  • Automate deployment of data flows and monitor automation
  • Act independently to resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of mission requirements
  • Maintain systems to meet SSP and security requirements through patching and security updates
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data flow problems and anomalies
  • Report on data flow metrics and processing statistics
  • Interact/liaise with multiple organizations to collaborate and design this system

Qualifications :
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in this area
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline in the area of expertise from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with data flow management tools
  • Intermediate proficiency with Linux administration and development skills
  • Experience acting independently to develop and implement customer requirements
  • Understanding of System Security Plan (SSP) requirements
  • Experience in writing python and BASH scripts
  • Experience in deploying applications in a cloud environment

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with creating custom ETL and data transport processors (using NiagraFiles +)
  • Experience with interacting with corporate cloud resources
  • Good communication skills in order to understand customer requirements and report on resolutions
  • Familiarity with data flow formats, smart data tagging and network protocols
  • Familiarity with HDFS and cloud technology
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Proficiency with MS Office / SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian's Confluence / Jira collaboration tool
