This is a 12-month administrative assistantship (20 hrs/wk year-round with the option of an additional 20 hrs/wk in the summer with compensation on an hourly basis). The Administrative Graduate Assistant will be an essential member of the administrative support team in the Deans office of the College of Arts & Humanities.
The graduate assistant position provides customer service to individuals seeking assistance from the Deans Office. This includes receiving and screening calls and visitors, ordering supplies and maintaining the conference room schedule and appearance.
This positon will provide administrative support for various College committees and initiatives to include scheduling meetings, collecting nominations, preparing documents for review and generating/sending notification letters.
The position also provides support for graduate and undergraduate programs and curriculum which includes researching and maintaining awareness of trends in research, graduate studies and curriculum in humanities disciplines and using that knowledge to inform and support appropriate staff and working groups.
Additional duties include website updates/maintenance and supporting senior staff and College events.
- Punctuality and a commitment to seeing a project to completion in a timely manner is highly desirable. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is also desired.- Experience with event planning.- Experience in a customer service role is preferred.
Typical office environment. May be required to transport items to events. Able to carry up to 25 pounds.
